By Latrishka Thomas Latrishka. thomas@antiguaobserver. com A Lightfoot West man charged in connection with the death of 19-year-old Guyanese national Joyleen Abraham has been committed to stand trial at the January Assizes after a magistrate rejected a defence bid to have the case dismissed. Victor Ince, 24, is charged with forcibly seizing and confining Abraham and unlawfully causing her death on 7 May 2025.

Abraham had reportedly travelled to Antigua to visit a friend. Passers-by later found her body along a quiet by-road linking New Winthorpes and the Jabberwock main road. Prosecutors allege that Ince was driving the vehicle in which Abraham was a passenger. Investigators were reportedly told by Ince that she jumped from the moving vehicle. Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel committed Ince on Wednesday, a day after rejecting a no-case…
