UWI, Ministry of Education and Fitzroy Rewinders record wins in Netball Business League

By Neto Baptiste The University of the West Indies (UWI) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) recorded emphatic victories in the Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association’s (ABNA) Business League when action continued at the YMCA Sports Complex on Monday. Contesting the Female Division, UWI secured a commanding 34-5 victory over Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) JOMA IV League Netters (B) in the opening game. Joy Shaw led UWI’s scoring effort with 28 goals from 45 attempts, while Trevisha Phillip added six from eight attempts.

For the League Netters, Alisha Jeremy sank two of her five attempts, with Haleema Pierre contributing three from six attempts. The Ministry of Education also enjoyed a comfortable win in the night’s feature match-up when they made light work of SLBMC JOMA IV League Netters (A) by a 29-6 margin. Karol Carlton was the leading scorer for the MoE, netting 17 of 24 attempts, while Adina Andre added 12 from 24 attempts. Sophia Wilkins and Sequoyah Survia each scored three goals for League Netters (A), with Wilkins converting three from nine attempts and Survia three from her 10 attempts.
