The chambers of commerce and industry of Tajikistan and Afghanistan have agreed to promote trade, investment and direct contacts between businesses in the two countries, Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) reported following online talks on September 30. The talks brought together Farhodsho Rahmonalizoda, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, and Sayed Karim Hashemi, chairman of ACCI. The sides discussed increasing bilateral trade, developing investment cooperation and establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs and investors. They also agreed to promote joint economic events and exchanges of business delegations. The Afghan side invited Tajik entrepreneurs and investors to the fifth National and International Imam Abu Hanifa Exhibition, scheduled to take place in Kabul on October 7–13.

The event will include B2B meetings, with companies from more than 20 countries expected to participate. Rahmonalizoda, in turn, invited an Afghan business delegation to a major trade and industrial exhibition in Dushanbe.
