Parliament to pay respects to Evaristus Jn Marie

The body of former Deputy President of the Senate Evaristus Jn Marie will lie in state at the Parliament Chamber on Friday, October 9. Members of Parliament are expected to pay their respects between 9 a. m. and noon.

Speaker of the House of Assembly Claudius Francis made the announcement during this week’s sitting of the Lower House. Jn Marie, a respected businessman and public figure, passed away on July 31, 2026. The cause of his death was not disclosed.
