Tajikistan’s economy is projected to grow by 8. 3% in 2026 , according to the latest macroeconomic review by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). The economy grew by 8. 2% year-on-year in the first half of 2026 , with growth supported by strong investment activity, domestic demand and rising foreign trade, the EDB said. The bank expects Tajikistan to maintain one of the highest economic growth rates in Central Asia this year. Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the region expected to record stronger growth.

The EDB forecasts economic growth of 9% in Kyrgyzstan, 7% in Uzbekistan, 6% in Turkmenistan and 5. 5% in Kazakhstan in 2026. Exports and investment drive growth One of the strongest results recorded in Tajikistan during the first half of the year was a sharp increase in exports. Their nominal value rose by 65. 4% compared with the same period in 2025. Fixed capital investment increased by 18. 4% , while retail trade turnover grew by 31. 8% .
