Azerbaijan tops overall standings at U-23 European Judo Championships

Baku, October 31, AZERTACAzerbaijani judokas Ajdar Baghirov and Kanan Nasibov have won gold medals at the U-23 European Judo Championships in Naples, Italy. According to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, Baghirov, competing in the -100 kg weight category, defeated Germany’s Jannis Baschini in the final to claim the European title.

Before reaching the final, the Azerbaijani judoka defeated Ivan Kutenkov of Ukraine, Borna Butijer of Croatia, and Ronald Pröll of Austria. In the +100 kg category, Nasibov also went undefeated.
