ABCA urges members to regularise status amid election dispute

By Neto Baptiste The Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) is urging all members to bring their membership subscriptions up to date. The reminder comes on the heels of statements from former West Indies fast bowler and president of Liberta Sports Club, Kenneth Benjamin, challenging claims by the body that low membership registration is partly responsible for delays in holding overdue elections.

The ABCA’s biennial election was due in 2024, but President Leon Rodney has identified stagnant membership registration and unfinished financial reports as the two main issues affecting the body’s ability to hold the elections. In a reminder issued to its membership on 2 September, the association said the swift action by members to settle outstanding subscriptions would assist in ensuring that its membership records remain current and accurate.
