450 set for Caribbean Music Awards performance

Dancehall artiste 450 is gearing up to make his debut performance at the highly anticipated Caribbean Music Awards (CMA). The fourth annual ceremony and showcase will take place on Saturday, September 19 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. For 450, the opportunity to perform on the regional stage represents another significant moment in his career. “It feels like a big moment for me. The CMA is a major platform for Caribbean music, so it feels like another chapter of the story that my team and I are grateful for,” 450, who is also nominated for Album of the Year, told the Jamaica Observer . V’ghn, Freetown Collective, Jah Mason, 1T1, and Theomaa are among the artistes slated to perform. The line-up represents a cross section of Caribbean music, spanning soca, reggae, dancehall, bouyon, and contemporary Caribbean sounds.

After three years of staging the awards in New York City, organisers are bringing CMA to the Caribbean for the first time since its inception. The move will also see the celebration expand beyond a single awards night into an immersive weekend of activities.
